Help Kim Fight Her Cancer!

Donation protected

This fundraiser is for Kim Yerton, Mama Bear of the Great Bear Trio, who is dealing with Stage 4 Aggressive Melanoma. In late December Kim was vacuuming and bumped her leg on the corner of a piece of furniture. What she thought was a freckle turned into a huge sore. Surgery revealed that she had Stage 3C Aggressive Melanoma which immediately got upgraded to Stage 4. It didn’t feel real!

Unfortunately, when this news came, she was already dealing with the fact that her husband, Dave, was trying to recover from a stroke. After a month in the hospital, he was ready for physical therapy, but Covid interrupted a critical window for his recovery, so now he faces an even longer, more difficult road to recovery. That along with the melanoma has been a great burden, and the medical bills are starting to arrive.

Kim (Mama Bear) is special to so many people. She has played for years in a nationally renowned dance band, the Great Bear Trio, with her two sons. She loves making music with her boys! Kim also loves to teach music, and her students love her! Her patience, her love and her joy are treasured by all who know her.

Kim and Dave have not wanted to ask for help until absolutely needed, and now there is a need!

Please let’s help Kim. Be as generous as you can!

Being on the road is hard work, but so worth it to get to make music with her sons:

To thousands of folks, Kim is "Mama Bear" of the Great Bear Trio. Here she is at home recording a set for a virtual event during covid.

Kim loves to teach!

Kim always has a positive attitude! This is three weeks before she finds out she has cancer.

Albeit, blurry, this photo is very telling - this is Kim deciding what attitude to have once she finds out about the cancer.
The decision is - fight, fight, fight!
