My Mom’s longtime friend, Lilly has been struggling to keep everything together and is in desperate need financially. I know everyone has problems but it seems like there has been no end to theirs. Her husband, Kim, has been unable to work for quite some time now and the bills and expenses have been adding up. It started with some strange type of infection which resulted in the amputation of one of his big toes. Next, a problem involving his heart which would require triple bypass surgery. You would think things could only get better from here... Unfortunately, before they were going to operate, test results came back showing that he now had throat cancer. Kim now had to undergo chemotherapy to deal with his cancer and could not proceed with heart surgery. Since chemo, awaiting the go ahead for heart surgery, his undetermined infection returned causing the amputation of three more toes. Lilly, the only one at home to care for him has been working still, trying to keep everything together, dealing with Kim’s depression, her own frustrations and anxiety. While in hospital recovering from amputations Kim’s required medication was free but as soon as he was released, his medication was no longer covered by any medical plan. It costs between $100 to $200 a week for his medication alone as well as all other living expenses. Lilly is in her mid 60’s and amidst Kim’s steady battles she had hernia surgery. She is a wonderful person, and a true friend... Any donation or share of our story would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for helping.
