Please help Kiko, my beloved brother, to walk again!

My brother has always been an active person. At the age of 80, he still cycled 15 km every day, with the energy and strength of someone who loves life. However, a few weeks ago he was surprised with intense back pain that left him immobilized. Currently, he depends on a wheelchair and, with a lot of effort, manages to do some steps with the walker before stopping because of excruciating pain.

The medical exams showed that he needs urgent surgery to recover his movements and leave this daily suffering behind. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure is high—R$50,000 reais (Brazilian Currency) and the wait to have the surgery done by the SUS (Brazilian Public Health System) can take a long time. Unfortunately, he cannot wait because every day in pain is one less day of quality of life.

Therefore, I created this GoFundMe account believing in the power of solidarity. Any amount, no matter how small it may seem, makes a difference. Together, we can give him the chance to get back to continuing his active life.

Meu irmoa sempre foi um uma pessoa ativa. Aos 80 anos, ainda pedalava 15 km todos os dias,com a energia e a força de quem ama a vida. Mas, há algumas semanas, ele foisurpreendido por uma dor intensa na coluna que o deixou imobilizado. Hoje, depende de uma cadeira de rodas e, com muito esforço, consegue dar alguns passos com o andador antes de parar por causa da dor intensa.

Os exames medicos mostraram que ele precisa de uma cirurgia urgente para recuperar osmovimentos e deixar para trás esse sofrimento diário. Infelizmente, o custo do procedimento
