Help Kif and Lisa beat FIP

Hi Everyone, it's Lisa. For those of you that know me, you know my cats are my absolute world and I would do anything for them.

Recently Kif has been diagnosed with FIP. FIP is a virus which causes a cats lungs to fill with fluid. It is one of the worst things a cat can be diagnosed with. FIP is traditionally considered a death sentence for cats, but fortunately there is a treatment that has proven successful! This treatment is very expensive though and hard to access. I am raising funds to offset as much as the costs as possible. Every little bit helps! Even $2!

So far the cost breakdown is as follows:

Today's vet visit: $508

Referral/Testing/Overnight Monitoring in the ICU: Estimated to be anywhere from $3000-$8000. I have already paid $2000 as a deposit.

Medication: $3400 upwards (Each vial is $70, but that is in USD not CAD and then there is shipping. Once converted it works out to about $100/vial . Kiffy needs to START with 34 vials and it will increase as he gains weight).

Needles/Syringes/Misc: $200.

I have spent nearly the last 2 years helping so many foster kittens and cats, and now it's my turn to ask for help for one of my own cats. Fostering can be exhausting, but it is so rewarding. It is emotionally draining though, and now that one of my own is in this situation, I am just at such a loss.

I feel shameful asking for help, but this is a large bill and Kif is so young. He is 8 months old and this treatment (and it's high success rate) would literally give him his entire life back, and I think he is worth fighting for.  It's not like he's already lived a long life and this is the natural time for him to go; he's still just a baby and that's what hurts my heart the most.

Also, if this is a success story, it will help to add to the data and research to help other FIP cats.
