Help Nan Su Su Lwin (Khun Da) get Treatment

Hi, our names are Chloe and Maxim and we are fundraising for someone very special in our lives - Khun Da. She was our Helper while we lived in Thailand and helped raise us for almost 7 years. Sadly she just informed us that she has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Liver Cancer. We are really sad and worried for her and want to help her in any way we can even with her in Bangkok and us now in Sydney. Unfortunately she is not able to consider that she can afford this as she doesn't earn enough or have appropriate health insurance to cover the cost. She sends everything she earns back to her family in Burma.

We were born in Bangkok, Thailand back in 2008 and 2006 respectively because our parents were working there. Da joined the family to help as we were so young and both our parents were so busy. She lived with us and helped raise us in both Bangkok and Phuket and her and her family were really kind to us. Sadly for us, she went back to Burma to be with her family, but she has always stayed close to our family and we speak with her all the time. Later she returned to Bangkok to continue working as a helper.

Recently she had a health check up and was found to have a growth on her liver. Stage 1 cancer. She needs surgery to get the tumor removed and cannot afford it as she works as a helper and doesn't get paid much and the money she earns in Bangkok goes back to her family who live in Burma. Tragically she has told us that the situation in Burma is terrible with Covid-19, and the Government isn't doing anything about it and aren't wanting to help the community, hoping they will die.

Upon receiving this devastating news, we decided to join forces with Onyu Park, the family who currently employs her as well as the families with whom she had worked in the past including Laurence Gallone and Virginie Bourbonnais. Together we are on a chat and discuss the best course of action and guide Da who is terrified, lost and so worried about her current job and what the future holds, most importantly how she will continue to meet the needs of her family in Myanmar who rely on her and her income to survive. We are based in Sydney, Onyu in Bangkok, Laurence in Canada and Virginie in France.

With the money we raise we would like to organise for her to get the necessary operation and as a Burmese National, living in Bangkok, it is very expensive, around 800,000 baht (33,000 AUD). So any donation at all would be appreciated and my parents have promised to also contribute as much as they can to help.

The photos included are of us with her and her husband Thon who also lived with us for a period of time and was also great to us and was part of our childhood, he lives Burma with his 2 sons while Da works in Bangkok.
