Help Kherin Dimalanta Stay in Canada

We are asking for your support to help Kherin Dimalanta with mounting legal and medical expenses so she can continue to fight to stay in Canada - a fight for her life and to see her kids again.
Kherin Dimalanta came to Canada as an in home caregiver in 2017. 6 months after arriving, she fell ill with chronic kidney disease and was put on dialysis. Like many foreign caregivers who come to Canada, Kherin left her 2 children in the Philippines for the hope of a better future for them. Through the caregiver immigration program, she should have been eligible for permanent residency after 2 years of work. However, because she fell sick and her condition costs "too much money" (approx $40,000 per year), the immigration system considers her ineligible to stay.
If Kherin has to move back to the Philippines, she cannot afford or even access the life saving dialysis she needs. Without dialysis, Kherin's doctors have told us she would die in 2 weeks.
We are asking Canada to allow Kherin to stay on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. But in an application for even just a temporary permit that typically takes 7 weeks to process, the immigration system has stalled on Kherin's file for 2 years. This has left her without formal immigration status, thus holding her hostage in Canada, preventing safe and secure access to vital life-saving health care in Canada and access to her children in the Philippines. Kherin has not seen her children in 4 years.
