<div>My name is Rushdy Athaullah and a very close friend of Khayra Riyaz. I am starting this fundraiser in the hopes of supporting Khayra in one her most important achievements at 16.

<div>She has been selected for the U18 Canadian National dragon boat Team and has an opportunity to participate in the IDBF World Dragon boat racing championships taking place in Thailand this year.
</div>
<div>It is unfortunate that the trip is not sponsored and will cost her more than $7000.
</div>
<div>I believe with our help, we can send her on this most deserving trip which will have tremendous impact on her life and everyone's life around her.
</div>
<div>Khayra, coming from a minority community, born to an immigrant family from Sri Lanka and working towards representing Canada internationally, demonstrates her dedication and hard work.
</div>

<div>Within the two years she has been involved in this sport, representing Killarney secondary school, she has captained her team and shown great dedication and leadership through the several medals her team has secured from races such as Concord dragon boat festival and Vessi 500 to name a few.

<div>Knowing her from birth, I have seen not only her passion to this sport but her commitment to other things she took on like Taekwondo. She has recently earned her 2nd degree black belt from Jonsun's taekwondo academy.
</div>

<div>Please help her to continue her triumph. Being able to participate in this competition will not only help her gain new skills and boost her confidence, it will also inspire other young generations to follow their passions, especially those from minority communities.
