Help Khaled Evacuate from Gaza

NOTE: Since GoFundMe only operates in some countries, a friend in the U.S. has opened a gofundme and is facilitating this campaign and funds transfer on my behalf.
Hello friends and dear community,
I am Khaled Hussein from Gaza, Palestine. I am 26 years old. I am a physiotherapist and humanitarian aid worker. I am also a volunteer in the field of the community leadership.
I am writing to you from a tent where I live with my family under inhumane conditions. There is no warmth in the freezing winter, and there is no safety as we are constantly under relentless bombardment. This has been our reality since we were forced to evacuate our home in the Al-Bureij refugee camp on December 21, 2023. Its fate remains unknown to us; whether it still stands habitable or has been destroyed like thousands of homes in our neighborhood.
We have been displaced three times, seeking refuge in different locations between Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, miraculously escaping certain death each time. As the war nears its 120th day, nothing changes but the intensity of bombing and killing, each day bringing more destruction and tragedy.
I never imagined living under these circumstances, watching my dreams and aspirations shatter before my eyes, powerless to act. I have always dreamt, strived, and worked hard to build a better future for myself, my family, and my country. In 2019, I graduated from the Islamic University of Gaza, ranking top in my class. I was offered to become a faculty member in the Department of Physiotherapy, where I taught students for a year. Throughout my university years and even now, I have always sought opportunities to volunteer and work in humanitarian aid; always as the person who provides aid, never the one who receives it.
What motivates me to excel is the pride and joy my achievements bring to my parents. However, their concern for my future and aspirations, which we frequently discuss, is now overshadowed by the constant fear in their eyes, fear for my life and theirs. I want to continue to be the person who brings happiness to my parents. I want to continue with my achievements and successes despite the difficult circumstances that have surpassed everything, where the wheel of life has completely stopped and there is nothing left in Gaza but death and destruction. They encourage me to move forward, strive, and search for ways that will help me to continue.
This is why I reach out to you, full of hope, for support to leave Gaza for a place where I can find safety, continue my pursuits, and fulfill the dreams I mourn for having lost to the war. To remain a source of pride and support for my parents, who are going through difficult times, and to continue being a pillar for those in need.
Currently, the only way out of Gaza to Egypt is through a company called "Hala." The company charges $5,000 per adult as of last weekend, and requires an advance payment of this amount prior to departure to cover all the permits and fees involved. I need $7,000 to be able to leave Gaza to Egypt ($5000 for Hala company and $2000 to support my temporary shelter in Cairo).
Your support might not only save me physically from the horrors of being in Gaza right now, but also from a more severe demise—the death of hopes, dreams, and ambitions under the constant threat of death and insecurity.
Thank you for considering this campaign and for sharing it among your friends. I hope we can achieve the goal before it’s too late. I will keep you updated as much as possible.
Gratefully,
Khaled Hussein
