This is Darkness, my partner Kevin's cat. He got sick very suddenly this week. We rushed him to the emergency vet to remove a suspected urinary tract blockage. Despite initially responding positively at the beginning of treatment, Darkness sadly succumbed to kidney failure on February 15th.

Since we had to use the emergency vet, we had to pay $5500 upfront for his treatment. We drained our savings to try to save his life. That was my only source of funds until I'm able to find a job. I had been out with a shattered ankle for several months before Helene, then my restaurant chose not to reopen. These funds need to be replaced in order for us to meet daily needs.

If possible, please consider a donation. I know we're all struggling right now but even a small donation would really help. I have copies of the bills & receipt and would happily provide them to anyone who would like to see them.

Any additional funds will be donated to the Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency fund and the House of Black Cat Magic to helps others who find themselves in this situation.
