Help For Kevin Bailey's Expenses

Kevin went home to be the the Lord on October 29th, Sunday at 3:19. My Hero fought such a hard long battle with this evil disease of Sqaumous Cell Carcinoma. Kevin had to go through cancer 6 years ago with his Dad in which he lost him. Then in 2016 he found out his daughter Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was by her side at the hospital every day for about a month. Katie is cancer free for over a year now. Then on Dec 30 th we were told Kevin was diagnosed with cancer.  After getting into MD Anderson and several Dr visits and test were told he had stage IV Sqaumous Cell Carcinoma and it had already spread to his left lung. After 5 different chemos and in and out of the hospital several times he was told it had spread to his right lung and in his bones. Kevin did not want to give up. He continued in his faith that God had something out there to make him better. The Dr said they really could not do any more chemo.  Kevin's exact words "Doc. There has to be something else we can try   I am not ready to give up and I want a team that will continue to be on my team to fight". So we tried the 5 drug and the tumoronly continued to grow.  Kevin went to the Dr on Oct 25th and had a Ct scan. The results were devastating. The cancer had spread to the other side of his neck and was starting to close off his airway.  We had Kevin taken by ambulance Saturday night as he couldn't catch his breath. Up until almost his last breath Kevin still had his big strong heart and joking ways. Kevin will always be my HERO as he never once cried about knowing he was going to die. He kept telling everyone to stop crying. Babe I know you are celebrating up in Heaven, playing your guitars and living the life you so deserve. I cannot wait to see you at that party one day. I know you are going to be Kyle and Katie, all your beautiful grand babies and my Guardian Angel and will make sure we are always safe. Along with the rest of your family sisters, brothers, and everyone else. I miss you so much but on the other side I am so happy NO MORE PAIN FOR YOU. I love you.
Your Baby!

This  is for my loving husband, Kevin.  He does not know I am doing this, but he needs help with getting money for medical bills that we will need to be paying here soon.  So Kevin was diagnosed with Stage IV Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  He had a lump show up in the left side of his neck.   We were fortunate enough to get him in MD Anderson, with the help of sister and brother in law putting up the money for the deductible.  They ran several test trying to find the source, in which it ended up starting in his tonsils.  They were removed, which was very brutal on Kevin.  Then we had to figure out a plan for him for treatment, because he carries a gene mutation call TERT.  In which he found out about 1 year earlier when he had to be tested to find out if he was a carrier of the gene, because his 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in Nov. 2015 and had horrible side effects from chemo and they discovered that the TERT was the reason.  So the oncologist at MD Anderson for Kevin said that they could not ethically administer traditional chemo to him because it could kill him real quick.  So after alot of meetings with numerous Dr.'s input, they decided that immunotheropy would be his best option.  They started him on Keytruda, in which he had 3 treatments, and as we could tell ourselves, it actually doubled in size on the tumor in his neck and the tumors in his lung.  So they changed his immunotherapy to Cetuximab.  After 6 treatments of this drug, the tumors in the neck and lung had grown another 50%.  I know Kevin was embarrassed by how big this tumor in his neck was.   He didn't want to go anywhere and always kept his hand over it.  It broke my heart to see him going through this, as he is a very outgoing person.  He has always done sales in his employment.  Kevin was told he could not work as of December of 2016 because of the pain medication he was on.  So after 2nd immunotherapy did not work, they said there only option was to try traditional chemo.  So they started him on Doxytacil.  After 1 treatment the tumor in his neck shrunk tremendously.  He had 3 treatments of this drug and then it caused neurapathy in his leg.  THey said this is from the drug he was on and it would only get worse.  During the chemo treatments Kevin's blood pressure was staying around 67/45.  Very low.  He had numerous falls on the floor at home.  Several while I was at work.   He has been hospitalized 3 times because of being so weak and dehydrated.  I was so afraid he was going to either fall and break his hip or hit his head when falling.  He is down to 152 pounds and those falls were hurting his tailbone.  A couple of them I was right behind him and try to catch him best I could to break the fall.   So after the 1st traditional chemo drug they suggested he change to another so he would have a better quality of life.  He had 3 treatments of this drug and we are back to square 1.  The tumors in neck and lung have grown, and we were just told on Aug. 12th that the cancer is spreading and now has gone to a cranial nerve to his tongue.  He is hardly drinking and pretty much not eating.  I am administering fluids at home every other day for him to try and keep him hydrated.  They put a PIC line in his arm this last time he was in the hospital, as you see in the picture.  But now trying to get him to eat because his mouth is in such pain is what I am dealing with now.  It is so hard watching him go thru this CRUEL CRUEL disease and all the pain and humiliation he is going through.  Because of Kevin not being able to work, it has been very tough getting bills paid.  I have to work in order to keep the insurance on him and it is so very expensive.  To be honest, it is costing me $1000.00 a month just for his insurance.  So I am asking any help that anyone can donate will help tremendously.   Besides trying to get caught up on bills, we will have to pay a new deductible here in a couple of months in order to keep his treatments and medications going, so this is what the funds will be going towards.  So anything anyone can and would like to help KEVIN FIGHT THE FIGHT OF CANCER, would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible.  God bless everyone who reads this and I pray that no one in your family would ever have to go through this painful, grueling disease.
