Help KenShin raise funds for Veterans Pets Health

Tax deductible
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVED IN ME AND THIS PROJECT!

I am very thankful that I was able to run and finish the solo marathon. It was a hot day with above 90 degree temperatures and up to 90% humidity. My support team of the two veterans Claude AnShin who accompanied on his bicycle and Keith who came extra from Tennessee for this race day and who accompanied me by car, they made sure that I stay hydrated both inside and outside. My finishing time was 6 hours and 14 minutes which makes a 14.23 minute/mile. My goal time was 14 minutes or perhaps under but in view of the weather conditions, I am very happy with the time. Interestingly enough, when I sat down on a chair in the drive way of the Magnolia Zen Center my running watch showed exactly 57,000 steps!

THANK YOU!

Wednesday morning ... ready to go!

Just a few minutes before starting time of 7:15 am!

In memory of stray cat Frida and for Veterans' animals...

Claude AnShin Thomas accompanied KenShin by bicycle and supported her along the entire distance.

... the last four miles!

57,000 steps made 26.2 miles. Finishing time: 6 hours 14 minutes, 14.23 minute/mile.

Will you join me in making a difference? I am raising $10,000 to benefit veterans who have a difficult time covering the costs of health care for their pets.
This fund will be be available at two local veterinarian clinics here in Mary Esther, Florida.  The Zaltho Foundation will manage the fund. Seed money will be $5,000 per clinic.

I am an ordained Zen Buddhist nun and a dedicated long distance runner. I have been studying and working for 24 years with the Zaltho Foundation and its founder, Zen Buddhist monk, Vietnam veteran  and author Claude AnShin Thomas. Doing this fundraiser allows me to love animals and care about veterans - two of my most favorite things in my life.

On Wednesday, 4 May 2022, I ran a solo marathon to fundraise for this project. This is also in memory of a stray cat that I cared for, Frida who died on 31 January 2022.

You can buy a mile for $100-300, however, I am happy about whatever amount you are willing to share.

Your name will be part of the project-thank-you that will be posted on facebook/instagram and will also be part of our communication with the two local clinics.

We will regularly share the stories of those who are helped through the Zaltho Veterans Pets Health Fund with you.

Your donation will help make an impact in the lives of veterans and their animals. I thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
