Help Kendra Rebuild After the Fire

Hi, this fundraiser has been set up for Kendra Robillard. Kendra is blind and has stage 4 kidney failure. She also has a 7 year old son with low-functioning, non-verbal autism. On Thursday, May 6, 2021, Kendra's apartment caught fire and she lost almost everything, including the therapy toys and tools that she had spent so much time accumulating for Jack, her son with autism. She barely made it out alive. Her two cats did not make it.

At first, it was thought some things would be salvageable, but it has since come to light after the firefighters knocked holes in walls and the ceiling to get at the fire, the apartment was exposed to asbestos. So, other than a few photos and things, the apartment is a write-off.

She is in a temporary room for now. The city is working on getting her into another apartment, but when she gets there, she will basically need everything, clothing, furniture, supplies and the therapy implements that are so vital to Jack's progress and day to day living. At a time when we are all struggling and slugging through this pandemic, the last thing I wanted to do was ask for help from neighbours and strangers, but as her mom, and a person with disabilities myself, I find myself in just that position. Any help, small or large, is appreciated beyond words. If you are unable to help, I understand, and wish your family well, and appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts as we drive through even thicker fog than we had before.
