Help Kelvin Get Back on His Feet Again

Kelvin was recently involved in a boat accident where his right foot was instantly amputated.
Just two days into vacation trip, Kelvin jumped into the ocean to swim as we parked the boat. After 10–15 minutes of swimming while trying to get back on the boat, he was sucked in by the boat’s engine. It was extremely difficult to pull him into the boat as he stuck on the boat’s propeller for some time until the boat owner jumped in the water to help release and save him. Due to the extraction of the boat’s propeller, Kelvin immediately lost his right foot from shin down and some severe injuries on his left leg all around. Thank you to the medical team that has performed such an incredible job in saving that left leg which was a difficult surgery.
Currently, Kelvin is still at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida where he is in ongoing treatment. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, his family cannot travel to Florida to see him, so he is there all alone which does not help with his recovery. Kelvin feels defeated in a sense but with the support of all of us he will soon be back on his feet with a prosthetic right foot. But even the most expensive prosthetic limbs are built to withstand only three to five years of wear and tear, meaning they will need to be replaced over the course of a lifetime, and they are not a one-time cost. Donations following his surgeries will be set aside for future treatments, medications, prosthetics, and financial support as needed.
Prior to the accident, Kelvin was a highly active person in the Metro Boston Area where he and his brother Noel have a soccer team called “Balboa” which plays both summer league and winter indoor league. Kelvin loves to play soccer and connects people from all races & backgrounds to join his team (he is always ready to lend a helping hand taking care of everyone around him). He is the happiest person that you could ever come across and has a big heart. Kelvin is a true warrior and hero.
We all want to help make sure he receives the very best of care and has every possible resource available to him to help with his recovery. The best way that we can do that right now is to help alleviate the financial stress this has put on him and his family.
