Thank you for visiting our Kelly Teed GoFundMe page. Kelly has been diagnosed with Lyme/ALS and Maggie Teed and her family have set up this page to help offset the overwhelming costs of living with this horrific disease.
In December of 2016 Kelly's speech began to slur and grew progressively worse as months went by. By April, 2017, she had lost mobility in her left arm and was diagnosed with Lyme, and by September of 2017 she was diagnosed with ALS. Because these diseases can have similar symptoms, we have been praying for Lyme and preparing for ALS. Sadly the symptoms of Kelly’s disease continue to progress and now, in addition to being unable to speak, Kelly is steadily losing mobility in her right arm and in both legs. This terrible disease has stolen her ability to complete even the simplest of tasks (eating, drinking, speaking and walking) and she is now unable to work, drive, dress herself, shower, cook, or sign her name.
As you can imagine, we are overwhelmed and heartbroken by this tragic reality. Kelly and those closest to her have been frantically searching for treatment options, clinical trials, or therapies that can ease her pain and extend her life, but they are difficult to find and very expensive to participate in.
Kelly is a beautiful, vivacious, selfless spirit whose infectious energy brightens up every room she enters. This easy going, fun loving woman who was always ready to toss a Frisbee or a football, ready for a catch, or a game of softball or tennis, who even kept her hockey skates sharpened and ready to go, and a consummate entertainer who could turn the simplest of meals into a gourmet feast, is now finding it difficult to move from room to room.
She has always put the needs of others ahead of her own and has touched the lives of everyone she's ever met. Her generosity and love of life are her most endearing qualities. Kelly has always been confident and self-assured, and she remains positive and focused on her recovery, but she is in the fight of her life and is struggling to survive. We hope to inspire others to be there for Kelly, so we humbly ask for your support to help manage this disease.
