About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12.4%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In 2018, an estimated 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 63,960 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
Four weeks ago, Kelly became that one in eight.
Immediately after that, Kelly stepped right up to the plate and she vowed to FIGHT and she vowed to continue to live her best life while doing it!
Not surprising, she's also committed to sharing her journey with the hope that she can inspire and give hope to others as well empower others to be proactive about preventive health. As she has endured countless doctor's appointments, blood draws, needles and the like over the last 28 days, she's done so with her signature smile and laugh which has served to assure us, her friends and family, that she will, undoubtedly, be victorious.
What can you do to help? I am glad you asked!
The unfortunate reality is that most of us have had our lives touched by cancer in some way. Even with the best insurance, there are medical expenses for treatments, surgeries, doctor visits and hospital stays, to name a few. There will be transportation and travel costs (gas, tolls, parking), living expenses, and the expense of taking time away from work. With so many friends and family members wanting/offering to help, I believe that financial uncertainty/worry should be the last thing Kelly has to consider.
Through your kindness today, you can help to ensure that Kelly can stay focused on living her best life and most of all - CRUSHING cancer.
Kelly will be donating any funds that remain at the end of her cancer treatment.
