One Less Worry

Hello all, thank you for clicking on this campaign. This fundraiser is for a very special boy in my life. His name is Israel and he is such a unique human being. Israel is 14 years old about to be 15 in October and has Autism. This diagnosis does not define him but allows the world around him to understand, for the most part, that he has special needs and requires a different level of love and care. Israel has Polycystic Displesia of his left kidney and now only has one kidney which is his right kidney.Doctors have given the family a life span of 18 years, but we know with our whole heart that Jehovah will want him to live a full and happy life. Right now, he is facing so many medical issues that he has been in and out of the children’s intensive care unit at UNMH more times than we can count in the last year. His body and health are very delicate as he is immunosuppressed, which basically means that he has a very poor immune system.

Currently, he has just had a NG tube placed up his nose into his stomach as he has been diagnosed with EOE, which causes the esophagus to shrink and makes swallowing things such as Jell-O particularly difficult. At this time, he is unable to eat anything solid and relies on his feeding tube to nourish his body. He is 5’6” and weights a staggering 102 lbs. He is fighting everyday to regain his strength and get back to his normal weight as well as his normal goofy self. Israel is a light in the dark to everyone he meets and means everything to me and his family. He has two sisters who are alive right now and has other siblings who have crossed over to be with Jehovah. He has them close to his heart and often cries out for his baby sister who was taken too soon in 2010.

To say that this family has been through a lot would be putting it lightly. Stephanie and Israel Sr have lost 3 children and have also been dealing with the fact that their children are Hemophiliacs like their father. Stephanie deals with a lot everyday and still manages to have a smile every time I see her. She takes life with a grain of salt and makes sure that her children’s basic needs are always met. Right now, Israel is incontinent and he requires adult pampers, ben liners, wipes and other pertinent essentials to stay comfortable while he battles his illness. He has been unable to urinate normally and often is unable to have a bowl movement due to illness he carries. Stephanie and Israel continue to fight back and fight for Bubba as we all call him, so that he can be as comfortable as possible. At this point we are looking for any kind of donation of money or items. In pampers he wears Depends Real-Fit size S/M, he needs Assurance bed liner pads, and wipes of any kind, all of which can be found at Walmart.

I challenge all of my friends, family and community members to donate $5 and then after a donation share, share and share some more so that we can get this campaign as far as possible. This family is faithful in their belief in Jehovah and do their best to uphold and uplift their children in their faith as Jehovah’s Witnesses. Stephanie and Israel are Bubba’s voice most of the time, but I am stepping up and asking for help so that they can feel comfortable knowing that gas for their vehicle is covered for awhile and that they can also continue to get groceries and keep their kids basic needs met. Thank you for reading this far and I know that this family appreciates anything you could do to help!❤️
