<div>Dear Rasa Caffe Community,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I opened Rasa Caffe in 2013 inside a small, charming space in South Berkeley. We quickly became a destination in the neighborhood. The cafe was bustling each day and many of our regular customers became dear friends. We created something unique, supporting a community of people who love what we stand for.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the spring of 2023, due to circumstances out of our control, we were no longer able to remain in the space we called home for nearly 10 years. It was heartbreaking. However, in early 2024 I was presented with the opportunity to relocate to the historic Tribune Tower in Downtown Oakland. I was thankful to continue to serve all of you. While the adjustment was challenging, friends — old and new — have enjoyed the updated and spacious cafe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After eight months we were beginning to feel settled in our new space. The stress of the move and working six days a week during the transition impacted my health. As a result I was hospitalized for 8 days due to a previously undiagnosed heart condition and spent a month unable to work. Both personally and professionally, this has taken a significant toll.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While I was incapacitated, the Rasa Caffe team worked diligently to keep us open. Now, as I work toward regaining my strength, I’ve been advised to prioritize rest and significantly limit my workload. However, there are substantial costs associated with keeping our operations running smoothly and it is more than I can handle alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here’s How You Can Help:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We need to raise $50,000 to sustain Rasa Caffe during this critical time. These funds will allow us to:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Hire and pay additional staff to support day-to-day operations.
</li>
<li>Cover vendor payments to keep our menu fully stocked.
</li>
<li>Ensure the long-term stability of Rasa Caffe as I continue my recovery.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am humbly asking friends, like you, for help. Rasa Caffe has been a labor of love for over 10 years. Your support means the world to me. Whether you donate, share this campaign, or simply stop by for a Rasa Chai, you’re helping keep Rasa Caffe alive as a cherished community space.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being part of this journey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In gratitude,
</div>
<div>Rasa Mott
