First, thank you so much for contributing to the improvement of our gym facilities. Your generosity makes all the difference in creating a comfortable and effective training environment for our junior rowers.

After careful consideration and research, we’ve decided to purchase the following equipment for the gym:

Meaco DD8L Zambezi Desiccant Dehumidifier: This model was selected for its outstanding ability to manage humidity levels, particularly in colder environments, while being energy-efficient and easy to maintain. Proper humidity control is essential to protect equipment, improve air quality, and create a comfortable space for everyone using the gym. - This is due to arrive tomorrow, if all goes according to the plan.

MeacoCool MC Series 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner: This model will be installed at the docks to complement the gym’s cooling needs, offering a balance of efficiency, cooling, and dehumidifying capabilities.

This total is more than the initial estimate of £600, and it reflects the best options for balancing the gym's needs for dehumidification and cooling. These choices will ensure we maintain a comfortable and safe environment for everyone.

GoFundMe typically charges a 2.9% platform fee on donations, plus a £0.25 processing fee per donation for UK-based campaigns.

We opted for these models to ensure the best combination of cooling and dehumidifying functions, addressing the specific needs of our gym spaces while maximising value for your contributions. While the initial air conditioner we considered was more cooling-focused, we felt it was vital to prioritise equipment with versatile functionality to suit our unique environment.

The GoFundMe page takes a small commission from donations, so every contribution helps us get closer to covering the full cost. I understand that not everyone may be able to contribute, and that’s okay—please feel free to give as and if you can.

The gym at Greenwich is vital to our juniors' training with Globe Rowing Club, but we've been facing challenges with humidity and mould, which can affect the health of our athletes and the longevity of our equipment. We are raising funds for an industrial dehumidifier and air conditioning unit to create a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

We're aiming to purchase a MeacoCool MC Series Portable Air Conditioner, which costs approximately £549. Every donation counts, no matter how small, and helps us reach this goal for our gym.
