Help keep me walking

I’m looking for some help with some fundraising for my son Shane who is in need of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech & language therapy and specialised equipment. Shane used to have these services a few times a week, but now it is once every couple of months. Unfortunately, this lack of support is having a detrimental effect on his development.
Shane is a very kind, loveable, bubbly 13-year-old boy who is very sociable and makes friends easily. However, Shane has a global developmental delay and motor difficulties. He was born with severe bilateral cleft lip and palate, and subsequently has feeding and oral motor difficulties. Shane is non-verbal. He uses gestures, Lámh sign and his I Pad to communicate his needs and wants.
Shane only learnt to walk at the age of 8. This was a massive achievement, one which gave Shane some independence. Unfortunately, Shane’s ability to walk is under threat, if he does not receive extensive physiotherapy and the equipment necessary to strengthen his legs. He is a very determined and motivated young boy who does not let anything deter him. The above therapy would give Shane the necessary tools he deserves to be able to communicate his needs and wants as well as keeping him mobile.
Your financial support would help with the cost of private physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. Unfortunately due to the cuts in the government health care budget, these services are no longer available to Shane at the frequency of which, he needs them.
His mother has been told, that without specialised equipment and the services he needs, Shane will regress and be confined to a wheelchair for his adult life.
