Help keep IDA warm for many winters to come!!

This fundraiser is set up in hopes of helping sustain IDA by making it easier to stay warm though many winters to come. Most of us have heat in our houses that we can turn on, up or down as it suits our comfort. At IDA, central heat and air is not an option and folks largely and/or entirely rely on their wood burning stoves for warmth. Wood burning stoves really pump out the heat, as long as there is plenty of dry wood provided to keep the fire burning. With 5 wood burning stoves at IDA, using approximately 2 cords per stove per winter, that’s like a completely gutted, full-length school bus filled top to bottom, front to back. That’s a lot of dang wood! It is incredibly labor intensive to achieve the basic need that so many of us take for granted: warmth. A log splitter makes it easier for more people to be able to split wood without taxing their bodies so heavily. And so in conclusion of my explanation.... IDA NEEDS A LOG SPLITTER!!! Aaaaaaand somewhere to store all this wood and keep it dry! So I am also trying to fundraise enough for materials to build 2 WOOD SHEDS large enough to store 2 cords of wood each. />
