<div>Hello, I am a member of Katies Pink Princess Brigade, and I am sending out a call to action on behalf our dearest friend Katie. Katie is a loving mother to her son Braden and wife to her husband John, an auntie with superhero powers for all her nephews, a daughter who loves her mom and dad, the best sister who is always in your corner and the most giving friend a person could ever ask for. She is always the first to show love and support and goes out of her way to make anyone she encounters feel welcome. Katie’s energy when she enters a room is like being embraced by a warm summer day, her laugh always brings a smile to your face and doesn’t just bring fun to the party she is the party. She is also one of the strongest people you may ever meet, who just takes whatever life throws and she throws it right back with a bit of pink sparkle and red flare. Unfortunately, Katie is now facing the most challenging journey of her life, and her strong giving heart and never-ending strength are fading.

<div>A few short months ago Katie was diagnosed with two different types of aggressive breast cancer. Within days of getting her diagnosis her pain became unbearable, preventing her from doing many of her normal daily activities like working, driving and even simple tasks like showering and dressing. Along with her breast cancer diagnosis, her team discovered she also has been walking around with a failing heart that needed to be taken care of before she could start any of her cancer treatments. Her journey has already started bumpy requiring multiple diagnostic tests, additional heart medications, imaging and numerous medical appointments. She is truly a miracle though and within a few short weeks of taking her heart medications she has been able to start fighting her cancer with a multiple drug regimen. She still has a long way to go with radiation, additional chemo and a double breast and possible lymph node removal on one side. Despite her constant positive attitude and sense of humor, the financial burden is already becoming overwhelming.

<div>The medical bills and medication costs are piling up, and insurance only covers a portion of treatments and care needed to put up a strong fight and beat her cancer. We are raising $25,000 to cover her treatments, medications and rehabilitation. Every dollar raised will go directly toward ensuring Katie is able to beat her cancer.

<div>Katie is always the first to show her love and support for others, she is constantly helping others in any way she can. She loves her family, friends and community with her entire heart. Now, she needs our help to fight this cancer and remove the storm clouds that are blocking her warm energy, allowing her to get back to doing the things she loves. We all need Katie’s hugs back in our daily lives!!
