Help Kathy live with ALS

Donation protected

Kathy, a devoted wife, mother and new grandmother, has always put others needs before her own. Besides being an extraordinary influence in the lives of myself and my siblings, she has contributed greatly to the youth community of our area by leading a 4-H horse group for many years. During which, she shared her knowledge and love for horses without reserve.

On October 27th, she was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

This disease damages nerves that control muscles, causing them to weaken and eventually stop working. It affects all muscles, so even breathing and speaking are affected.

After diagnosis, most patients succumb to the disease in 2 to 5 years. Approximately 50% of patients will live more than 3 years.

There are no cures for ALS, only treatments to slightly slow the process. Medications and special equipment such as breathing support, motorized wheelchairs, and special computers to help her speak when she is no longer capable, can help to make life a little easier.

We are reaching out for help in covering some of the expenses so that she might experience what precious time she has left as comfortably as possible.

We sincerely thank you for any help you can give.
