Help Kat Go with Rare Condition

Donation protected

I am Katrina Go, a 31-year-old mother to a 7-month-old baby.  I am from Cebu, Philippines and I have recently been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer; a low-grade condition called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP).

I have been in New York since October 5, 2018, searching for a specialist for my condition. Luckily we found the specialist from Mt. Sinai.
However, I need to be able to do the procedure soon, as time is elemental. But apparently, we have to pay estimated $85,927.00 upfront so they can block off and schedule me for the procedure which I need to do in a months time.
Coming from a 3rd-world country, this amount is extremely difficult, and nearly impossible to come by, as I am a stay-home mom and my husband is the only one supporting us. He runs a small  design and contracting business just breaking-even, back home in the Philippines.
So my aunts advised me to come here to goFundme.com to help raise the funds I need for the procedure.

I cannot explain how devastated I am to find out about this, as I was just on the verge to start on my new life as a mother.
I gave birth just March 16, 2018 and was expecting to spend my life raising my beautiful, bubbly and happy baby girl.
Since everything went well, my husband and I were planning to have another baby following Brooklyn since he’s 37 years old and is getting older. So we were considering it.
Five months after giving birth, I initially started having sharp right quadrant pain in my abdomen, which lasted for four (4) days. I thought it could’ve been somewhat related to childbirth or maybe something with my gallbladder, since I no longer have an Appendix (it was removed back in 2013 together with my ovarian cyst having been diagnosed earlier with Mucinous Cysadenoma of the Right ovary and the Appendix).
So I had and abdominal ultrasound done towards the end of August of 2018.
Then the results came out with significant findings, which required me to have further work-up.
I did a CT-Scan Triphasic, and found that there was accumulation of liquid under my liver, which needed to be seen via laparoscopy. All of this happened in a span of 3 weeks, as I was adamant to find out what was going on with me. I was crying and most of the time sleepless, worrying what the future of my child would be without me.
Finally, the Diagnostic Laparoscopy was done and then came the words Pseudomyxoma Peritonei.

Now with this condition, we were told that we might have to consider having the removal of the uterus and ovaries if the extent of the condition deems it. So that would mean, Brooklyn  Claire might be our one and only baby. This news broke our hearts.

A brief explanation of the condition with the link: Pseudomyxoma Peritonei is a rare idiopathic condition that affects 2 per million individuals. https://acpmp.org/files/ACPMP%202016%20Brochurev4.pdf.

The recommended treatment for my condition will require a surgical oncologist and one with great skill as a good prognosis depends greatly on the ability and experience of the surgeon.

Extensive and intensive surgical intervention is recommended, possibly removal of the affected organs such as the removal or part of the colon (Hemicolectomy), removal of the gallbladder (Cholecysytectomy) , scraping of the peritoneal surface (Peritonectomy), Total Abdominal Hysterectomy Bilateral Slapingo-oopherectomy (TAHBSO), plus hyper-infusion of Chemotherapy  intra-operatively for 90mins via a procedure call HIPEC.

And so, here I am, asking your help to get me back the chance of having a normal healthy life with my small family. I do not have the proper insurance to help me with this situation and I really wish I had the right advice and the foresight to do so.
I am really desperate to have the operation done soon, not later than first week of November 2018.
Having to leave my 7-month-old baby behind is extremely difficult, and I miss every second I am away from her. She needs me back home and I need to live and be healthy for her.  Please pray for me and help me storm the heavens with prayers for healing.
I have tears soaking the keypads typing this, as I am reaching out to your kind and generous hearts. A little will go very far and I thank you from the bottom of my hearts for allowing me to have the chance to see my daughter grow up.

For updates regarding my condition and progress,  I will be posting a link here soon.

Thank you once again and God bless.

P.S.
The campaign funds will be managed by the aunt who I am living with,  as I do not have a bank account here in the US. Her name is Maria Teresa Go.  She will be managing the withdrawals on a daily basis via her Chase account.
I have been living with her here in New York and she constantly monitors the progress of my GoFundMe account.
She takes care of me here and doesn't let me spend on anything at all as she wants me to save my money. She is very trustworthy and reliable and she is the sweetest aunt.
