Help Karthik for his Funeral & Family Support

Donation protected
Devastated and with a heavy heart and tearful eyes, I write this request to the global community.

My dearest brother Karthik was pronounced dead on 17 Jan 2022 at just the young age of 31. We had a friend gathering in our room, and he suddenly collapsed with seizures and breathlessness. We immediately rushed him to Kaiser Hospitals and got him admitted to ICU. He fought like a warrior, but unfortunately, God decided to take my dearest brother away from us.

It is heart-wrenching to perceive his death as he always keeps his health fit, doesn’t smoke and is a teetotaler. Unfortunately, even the doctors couldn’t identify the reason for his death yet since he is too young for a cardiac arrest and is waiting on an autopsy report.

Me and my brother hail from a middle-class family from Telangana. Having lost our father at a very young age, my strong-willed mother took us in her hands, struggled in her life and raised us, boys, with values and virtues. She always taught us how to live a life with an open mind, be helpful to others in our capacity as she always thought of the world as ‘Vasudaika Kutumbam,’ which translates to ‘the world is one family. Though we struggled in our lives in terms of a decent life and education, my brother & I imbibed this ideology, studied hard, and lived to accept the world the way it is and turn things positively.

We always wanted to show our gratitude to our aging mother and make her proud by settling big in our careers and upbring the family financially. With our little savings and scholarships, we came to the United States to pursue Post Grad and fulfill the American Dream. However, it’s just been a few months since we came here and we are still figuring out and fulfilling basic necessities like Insurance, Bank Account, etc., and this unfortunate situation happened.

Our dreams and lives have been shattered, and it’s excruciating to realize that it is just me & my mother now. I am planning to take my brother (his body, still unable to accept ☹) with me back to India to have my mother look at him last.

Before I make arrangements for these, I am facing two immense challenges financially.  A Huge medical bill and Burial/Cremation Concierge Services to send the body to India.

Though Indo-American Communities like TANA & BATA have been helping through most of the formalities, we are still financially challenged.

As a huge believer of oneness and humanity still exists in this World, I humbly, with folded hands, requests all my BROTHERS and SISTERS to please help us in this regard and help a mother get a last look at her deceased son before his every physical existence vanish from the face of this earth !!!
