Help Karl K (Danner)

On August 21, 2017 our friend Karl Danner (also known to the D&B community as Karl K) was admitted into the ER with signs of a stroke. After many tests It was determined that he had two strokes caused by endocarditis and infection on his mitral valve.  The infections also spread through his blood throughout his entire body.  He was immediately put on antibiotics to fight the infection.

On September 1 he underwent Open Heart Surgery to replace his Mitral Valve.  During surgery they found the infection had already begun to spread to other areas of the heart.  Surgeons were able to replace his valve and scrape away the lingering infection.  

After 17 days in the hospital he was discharged to an inpatient rehab facility.  While he is healing well from his heart surgery he unfortunately has been dealing with affects from his two strokes.  With limited mobility, double vision, and loss of speech (Apraxia) he is requiring intensive daily therapy.

There will be mounting bills and incredible expenses over this long road to recovery and with our friend not being able to work and earn you can imagine the incredible hardship that will be placed upon him and his beloved Erin.
