Let's Get Together to Support Karl.
Two days ago in Gozo, Malta, Karl Pace's boat caught fire during the night while he was asleep inside. Luckily he woke up but needed to run through the fire to get out of his boat. He suffered severe burns, with 60% of his body being burned. Thankfully none of his vital organs were damaged and his face did not suffer any burning either. The doctors estimate that he will need at least 3 months to recover. He will spend the whole next month in hospital and it will be some time before he can walk again.
We want to support him during his time of recovery and ensure his rent and other living costs get paid without worries and struggles. He deserves time to fully rest and receive now. Karl has not asked for this, neither did he know about it at the beginning. We told him after the campaign had reached 10.000 Euro and he is beyond grateful and extremely touched about all the support he is receiving, which he never expected.
We started the campaign because we wanted to help in some way that we can and maybe others who feel that they can will want to help too. We know many people are going through difficult times themselves at the moment and are financially struggling, which of course we respect and understand. And this is a list of what the collected money will be spend on:
-rent
-monthly ongoing bills (utility, phone)
-organic and healthy food and supplements to support his recovery
-therapy sessions to recover from the trauma of the accident
-any additional medical costs that his health insurance or the Maltese government does not cover
-monthly loan payments
We hope to support him not only during the next 3 months of his recovery but during the next 7-11 months so he has time to get his life back together and recover from this highly traumatic experience.
