Help Karen and Eric Rebuild After Hurricane Milton
Donation protected
My dear friends, Karen and Eric Boelts, emerged from their storm shelter, emotionally battered, but otherwise unscathed. This cannot be said for their home. While physically intact, it sustained significant damage (roof, flooring, siding, furnishings and much more). Although the Boelts had hurricane insurance, they were informed by their adjustor that their coverage was only for a total loss. They will receive nothing from their home owner’s insurance to help with repairs.
And to pour salt on their fresh wound, Karen and Eric just updated their home in preparation for putting it on the market soon. They are unclear at this time whether or not they may be able to go forward with their plan to sell their home.
The dollar amount to repair their home, replace damaged items, and appliances is likely in excess of $45,000.00. That’s a number that would take most of us under water.
I am reaching out to you, on their behalf, to ask that you dig deep and offer whatever is in your heart (and wallet) to help them recover and get back on their feet.
Karen mentioned that since they were without power for four days, nearly everything in their refrigerator and freezer was lost. It would be particularly helpful right now to receive gift certificates for groceries (Publix Super Market) or home repair stores such as The Home Depot or Lowe’s. If you have Karen’s phone number or email you can send these directly to her. Or, of course, cash always works. Contributing to this GoFundMe campaign will go directly to the repairs needed on their home.
