On March 19, 2026, Kaleth, Joani and Jonathan were abruptly arrested and detained after dutifully appearing at an immigration check-in appointment.

<div>Kaleth is only two years old. He suffered immensely in detention at Dilley. <strong>Kaleth was unable to eat solid food for the entirety of his detention at Dilley. For nearly two weeks, Kaleth vomited every time his mom tried to feed him solid food.</strong> Kaleth survived by drinking water and apple juice. Kaleth cried frequently and suffered mentally and physically. He developed a high fever. He was unable to sleep, awoken by the lights that were on 24/7 and the noises of patrolling guards at night. He desperately missed his father.

<div>Jonathan was just released recently. During his detention, Jonathan recalled constant moments of humiliation and degradation. His food would be taken away while he was still eating. He was constantly treated as if he didn’t matter. Over time, he said, the emotional, psychological, and physical toll became overwhelming. Jonathan was placed in solitary confinement twice for asking to speak to an attorney.

<div>Now, following their release from Dilley, Kaleth, Joani and Jonathan are in urgent need of support to rebuild their lives in California. Following their detention, their landlord threw out all their belongings. They have had to find a new place to live. Kaleth, Joani and Jonathan need your help.
