Help Kaitlin and Chris

Theirs is a story like many. Kaitlin and Chris got married last June and several months later she found out she was pregnant with their first child. They were ecstatic at this wonderful news, as were their family and friends. So many of us had a close bond with Kaitlin and Chris during this entire pregnancy. (After all we were all going to be aunties and uncles!!) Whether it be ultrasound pictures or updates from appointments we were always in the loop. Fast forward to this past Tuesday, June 13th. The big day had come; INDUCTION DAY! Kaitlin kept us up to date on how everything was progressing as the excitement grew with each passing minute. Wednesday at about 6:00 pm baby boy Street was born! We got the official text just after 7:00 pm saying "it's a boy! Mom and baby are doing great!" 2 1/2 hours later things took a drastic turn for the worse. Baby Benjamin was very sick and in immediate need of transport to Boston. He was medflighted to Boston Children's in the early hours of Thursday and Kaitlin was soon transferred to The Brigham. Sadly, and unexpectedly, just before 7:00 am on Thursday June 15th, Baby Benjamin passed away surrounded by his loving family.
As if this tragedy was not bad enough, Kaitlin became sick as well and remains at The Brigham today, it has yet to be determined when she can go home.  I am happy to report that she is slowly improving each day, but has a long road ahead of her.
This should be the happiest time for Kaitlin and Chris. Instead of taking their beautiful baby home, they now have to plan for his funeral.
Many have asked what they can do or how they can help. Well, here's your chance. They are going to need financial help with numerous expenses  as well as medical bills that will be incurred as a result of this tragedy.
