Help Kahlil Recover from Unfair Encounter w Police

On December 1st, Kahlil Wilson Moore was pulled over for speeding. Kahlil suffers from bipolar disorder and has been struggling with his mental health since August. He has been in and out of the hospital trying to regain control over his mental health and this encounter has only put more obstacles in his way. Officers pulled him over for speeding, but then accused him of being intoxicated. Instead of offering their support to someone who was struggling with their mental health, officers treated him extremely unfairly and refused to listen to his needs. Kahlil is mixed and also has tattoos on his face. It is not hard to come to the conclusion that his appearance contributed to his unfair treatment. He is now stuck with a $2,000 bill from the encounter, which he is not in the financial position to pay, and will have to wait a year for the results of his blood test to come back and prove his innocence. He has been put on probation indefinitely, despite the fact he has not been proven guilty of any crime.
This is not Kahlil's first encounter with police brutality or racial profiling. When he was in high-school, he was accused of breaking into his own house. A neighbor called the police when they saw him entering his home shortly after he moved in. Police came and questioned him, and would not believe he lived there until he gave them proof of residence.
Several years later, Kahlil had another brutal encounter with police. While he was suffering a manic episode, police had him thrown to the ground and arrested him with his face against the sidewalk.
While this money cannot come close to healing the wounds caused by these events or changing the system that allows them to continue, it can help Kahlil individually have the financial freedom to focus on himself and his needs while he tries to recover.
Kahlil currently attends Western Washington to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies. He has one year left until he completes his degree. He enjoys; anime, debate, hiking drawing, writing, and music (Juicewrld, Soldier kidd, lil peep, etc).
