Two years ago, Kafiya arrived in Canada as a refugee, carrying little more than hope and the determination to build a better future. She left behind her family in Kenya, including her beloved mother, with dreams of working hard and supporting them from afar.

Since then, she has poured her heart into rebuilding her life, working tirelessly to create opportunities for herself and her family. But despite her dedication, life as a newcomer has been challenging—navigating a new country, balancing responsibilities, and sending what little she can back home to ensure her loved ones have what they need.

Now, her mother has fallen ill, and the pain of being so far away has become unbearable. She has not seen her family in years, and more than anything, she longs to be by her mother’s side—to hold her hand, offer comfort, and be present for the family that she loves so deeply.

We want to help make that possible. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover a round-trip ticket for Kafiya to return to Kenya and reunite with her family during this critical time. Every donation, no matter how small, brings her one step closer to embracing her mother again.
