Help K secure safety, housing, and recovery

Donation protected

CALL TO ACTION: Help K. to secure physical safety, housing and a chance to physically and mentally heal.

We’re a group of concerned friends stepping forward on behalf of someone you might know as a Black and trans researcher, a comrade, a soul sibling, a traditional practitioner & an astrologer. As their immediate safety is currently compromised, we will not include their name or any name related to their roles.

For the past two years, K has been surviving threats to their life, near-death experiences due to domestic violence, and continuous trauma. And despite all of this unravelling in their life, while being the primary carer of their family, K stayed committed to listening, protecting, supporting every one of us, teaching and guiding us, advising and lending us strength, vision and hope.

If resistance has a form, K is the embodied realization of our ancestors' deepest desire to revive its spirit. In the words of our comrade Moyo:

“K’s insistence on developing epistemologies of liberation has now brought us to a new liminal space; how does emancipatory mutual aid manifest in the spaces between us surviving and thriving in racial and gendered capitalism? between fugitivity and sovereignty? between captivity and agency?

We believe it is our duty, as committed lovers and friends, to develop kinship in care to support their need to recreate a sense of home & security for themselves. Because the earth is our time, because our cosmologies of care are deeply embedded in radical pan-africanism, because we love each other enough to assure that our survival needs are met, we are fully convinced that the next part of our collective journey is ensuring that K survives, thrives and keeps developing their work, the resources, the tools and roadmaps necessary for the reconditioning of our holistic bodies.”

The funds will go towards:

Relocating K and their two cats into safe housing.

Enough rent, bills and living expenses to cover physical recovery time.

Longer-term therapeutic support as a survivor of domestic violence.

Possibility to access gender-affirming support.

Re-rooting their work, allowing them to keep supporting their family.

We ask all of us Ancestors in training to join in solidarity, generosity, and kindness.

As K always teaches us,

As we Hold and Build this Earth Together.

Ashé.
