Help Julio fight brain cancer
Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends and GoFundMe community,
I'm Luisa and I’m asking your help to support my dad for the treatment of his recent diagnosis of brain cancer.
At beginning of the year 2023, my father, Julio Cesar, started a tough medical journey that began with symptoms that seemed harmless at first: persistent headaches, anxiety and memory loss, with our local healthcare system, he was initially misdiagnosed with depression, leading to a referral to a psychiatrist.
As time passed, his condition worsened, he lost complete mobility on his right side, he struggled to communicate, and displayed erratic behavior; Urgent visits to various specialists revealed the true diagnosis: Glioblastoma, an aggressive tumor at level 4 located in his left lobe, this type of brain cancer is among the most severe and, sadly, incurable tumor so treatment became imperative.
My father has bravely undergone three craniotomies, Chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as a self-employed individual, he was forced to stop working due to the physical effects of these surgeries and treatments. As his only daughter, I had to leave the country where I live to provide full-time caregiver and becoming the primary financial support for him and my mother.
Recently (sep 2024), my father experienced a recurrence, requiring a new round of chemotherapy, medical and bioenergetic treatments, so we now face significant medical expenses, daily living costs, and may also need second opinions from specialists.
Your support can help us afford his ongoing treatments, explore potential alternatives like Optune, and provide much-needed relief for daily expenses, nursing care, and medical supplies, allowing us to focus on his recovery and make the person I love the most happy.
Creating this page and sharing our story was not an easy decision, but your compassion and generosity could make a world of difference in my father's fight against Glioblastoma and my family, every cent will be really valuable and appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your empathy.
With deep gratitude,
