<div>Her initial biipseys and blood tests cost the family 70,000 pesos.

<div>Her surgery this evening to put a stint in her liver to relieve the pressure from the stomach tumor on  05/19/25 will cost around 90,000 pesos.

<div>Then the MRI and blood screening every 2 months will be paid by the family at around 10,000 pesos per session.

<div>The Story of Abuelita Maria Nidia - Light, Strength and Hope
</div>
<div>Maria Nidia Maldonado Fiol was born on July 14, 1953, in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. She was the sixth of eight siblings, known for her warmth, strength, and a smile that could ease even the hardest of days.

<div>She met the love of her life, Ricardo, during the Foundation Day festivities of La Paz in 1977. Three years later, they married and began a life full of love, struggle, and joy. Together they raised their children Ricardo, Ivan, and Nidia. Later, life blessed her with the title she loves the most: grandmother to Julian Ricardo, Cesar Alejandro, Nestor Edmundo, Amaia, and Carolina.

<div>Maria Nidia is the kind of woman everyone feels lucky to know. She cooks with love, listens before she speaks, and is always there when you need a hug instead of words.

<div>A few months ago, she began feeling unwell. Her appetite faded, energy declined, and pain in her abdomen grew. After countless tests, our family was devastated with a diagnosis: advanced gastric cancer.

<div>The cancer is not only affecting her stomach but also pressing against her bile ducts, causing jaundice, dark urine, and serious complications that require urgent intervention.

<div>Maria Nidia Maldonado Fiol nacio el 14 de julio de 1953 en la ciudad de La Paz, Baja California Sur. Fue la sexta hija de una familia de ocho hermanos, hija de Ruben Maldonado Salgado y Clarisa Fiol Cazares.

<div>Conocio a quien hoy es su esposo, Ricardo, durante las fiestas de la Fundacion de La Paz, el 3 de mayo de 1977. Despues de un noviazgo de tres anos, se casaron el 23 de febrero de 1980. Juntos formaron una hermosa familia con sus hijos Ricardo e Ivan, y su hija Nidia, quienes mas adelante le regalaron la alegria mas grande de su vida: sus nietos Julian Ricardo, Cesar Alejandro, Nestor Edmundo, Amaia y Carolina.

<div>Maria Nidia es madre de familia, abuela amorosa, amiga fiel y el alma de nuestro hogar. Su risa, su dulzura y su forma de escuchar han sido durante anos un refugio para todos los que la rodeamos.

<div>Siempre ha sido de esas personas que se sientan contigo a tomar un cafe con calma, que cocina con cario aunque no tenga hambre, que pregunta por los demas antes de hablar de ella.

<div>Hace unos meses empezo a sentir molestias en el abdomen, perdida de apetito y una incomodidad dificil de describir.

<div>Pensabamos que era algo digestivo, quiza pasajero, pero con el tiempo fue empeorando. Bajo de peso, dejo de comer con gusto, y sus ojos comenzaron a ponerse amarillos.

<div>Tras una serie de estudios y procedimientos, fue diagnosticada con cancer gastrico avanzado, acompanado de obstruccion biliar que ha complicado su estado de salud. Actualmente necesita con urgencia un drenaje biliar para permitir que su cuerpo elimine la bilis y su higado se recupere. Este paso es indispensable para iniciar su tratamiento oncologico.
