We need your help to get our dream project in front of decision-makers and film festivals. JUKE BOX HERO is a gripping 20-minute film about the tribulations of a punk band in Brooklyn, New York.

<div>JUKE BOX HERO follows a punk band and its lead guitarist, who give everything chasing a dream. Through deflating jobs, endless practice, and daily setbacks this band struggles on.

It's crucial for these creative voices to be heard because our unique perspectives enrich the cultural tapestry and bring much-needed diversity to storytelling.

Because attention and time are scarce, young filmmakers need proven outlets just to get our work in front of an audience. Festivals offer a unique platform for showcasing JUKE BOX HERO to a broad audience and industry professionals. Competitions significantly enhance our credibility and marketability, making this film – and us – appealing to distributors and audiences.

<div>The average entry fee is about $85 per category. Some prestigious festivals charge much, much more. We plan to analytically choose 55 festivals and enter multiple categories. The more we strategically target appropriate festivals, the more JUKE BOX HERO will be seen. Built into our goal’s target is a handful of festivals with high entry fees.

Hispanic storytelling will be heard. Expanding our contacts can lead to job offers and partnerships that might not be possible otherwise. But competition fees add up. As new individuals to the industry, we were so driven to make JUKE BOX HERO but were unaware of the budget it would cost for the entire production process or the necessity for marketing then. We have learned a lot since then and plan to keep learning. Now we know competitions play a vital role in promoting films and their creators. Festivals provide visibility, credibility, and recognition, which are essential for JUKE BOX HERO and our own careers. Yes, competitions can be costly, but exposure, industry access, and professional validation make them an investment and our future budgets will always include a line item under Marketing.
