<div>Jr is disabled and suffers from severe, uncontrollable seizures, with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy . Over time, his seizures have become more frequent, more intense, and more dangerous especially after his Spinal Surgery back in May. Watching your child lose control of their body and not know if they’re going to come out of it… is a pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone. There have been countless hospital visits, sleepless nights, and moments where I truly thought I was going to lose him.

<div>Jr is currently on five seizure medications plus eight+ additional medications, and instead of helping him live, they are slowly breaking his little body down. He sleeps most of the day. He barely plays. He barely interacts. He is no longer the happy, energetic child he once was, and it is devastating to watch him fade while we are desperately trying to save him.

<div>We were finally able to get him an appointment with a brain seizure specialist in Houston — a doctor who specializes in cases like Jr’s and could give him a real chance at a better life. But they do not take our insurance, and the initial appointment alone is $4,800, not including any tests, procedures, or follow-up care. Our appointment is on the 21st (next week), and we are on a very limited time frame to come up with the funds.

<div>To make matters worse, I lost my job and our insurance because I was repeatedly forced to leave work to rush Jr to the hospital during seizures. I had to choose between my job and my child’s life and I will choose my child every time. I also haven’t been able to open my small shop this past year because Jr’s seizures are so severe and unpredictable. Everything in our life revolves around keeping him alive and safe.

<div>This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but I am humbly asking for help. We are not asking for luxury, comfort, or extras — we are asking for a chance for our son to get the medical care that could change or save his life.
