Help Joy Landin Kick Breast Cancer to the Curb!

Donation protected
Loving mother, grandmother, daughter, little sister, fiance, supportive community member and overall amazing human being, Joy Landin, needs our help.  As you may know Joy was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer at the beginning of November 2020.  We are setting up this Go Fund Me to show Joy the support that she has always given to her family, friends and community.  Joy has only been able to work sporadically due to the grueling process of diagnosis, testing, chemotherapy and surgeries.  She has been getting her treatments in St. Cloud, MN which is an hour from home so she also has a lot of travel expenses.

Joy has served our community in the Nutrition Industry for over 28 years, feeding our elderly and hospital patients.  Joy has raised 3 beautiful young ladies and also cares for her fiance Billy’s children and loves every available moment she has with her 4 handsome little grandsons.  Joy and Billy were set to get married in 2020 but heartbreakingly had to postpone; first due to Covid and second due to cancer.  As many of you know, Joy worked tirelessly on a Benefit to support her brother Jason during his 2 cancer journeys and subsequent bone marrow transplant.  She is an amazing little sister and so very loved!!  The first needs remain financial as medical treatments and travel expenses have been compiling swiftly.  In addition to financial care, the family asks for your prayers for Joy. God is Good!

Joy’s fight started in late October when she developed an extremely sharp stabbing pain in her right breast that was unrelenting.  Within days she noticed that there was a lump at the painful site.  Joy was urgent in contacting her Dr. and thankfully she was able to be seen right away.  It has been a whirlwind of appointments since her first mammogram on October 29, 2020.  Following that mammogram were ultrasounds and  Joy was referred to the Coborn Cancer Center in St. Cloud, MN.  She then had 12 painful biopsies with a subsequent PET scan to determine if it had spread to her lymph nodes.  On November 12, Joy got her upsetting diagnosis.  On that day, Joy and her family had a 3 way call with four Doctors from the Coborn Cancer in St. Cloud to determine her cancer attack plan.  The Doctors determined that she would need chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.  Joy started chemotherapy on December 16th.  She proceeded with weekly chemotherapy for the first month and was extremely fatigued with aches from head to toe, only working sporadically.  With her hair starting to thin, Joy took charge on New Year’s Day and shaved her hair before cancer could take it all.  She is one strong and determined woman!  She continued having chemotherapy every other week until February 10, 2021 when, devastatingly, we found out that the chemo was not working.  Joy made the harrowing decision to go ahead with a double mastectomy.  She bravely underwent this surgery March 1st.  We won’t find out what treatment is next until mid-March.

Please help us support this brave, loving and amazingly stubborn ;) lady!  We completely understand if you can not donate at this time but we do ask if you can please share this on social media, through emails and text.  We greatly appreciate any and all financial support, prayers and positive energy no matter the amount.

Thank you all very much!  Keep Kicking Cancer Joy!!  We love you!
