HELP JOVANNA BEAT LEUKEMIA!

It seems like you always read a tragic story in the news these days and feel all of this sympathy for a stranger, hoping to never have to go what they are going through.  You hope to never be affected; until you are.  In this moment we are.

My younger sister Jovanna was diagnosed with ACUTE LEUKEMIA which is a cancer of the blood.  When you hear this, you are instantly gut punched, your mind spins and you feel helpless.  You pray and you pray and hope that prayer is enough but deep down YOU HAVE TO ACT, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT, for her, even IF in this moment she can't.

For those of you who know her, you know her kindness, you know she is such a  beautiful and happy spirit. She's the friend that reaches out and NEVER FORGETS YOU, shes the friend that believes in you. Let us all believe in her, let us all pray for her and let us ALL ASK GOD TO CURE HER ( I ask for this the most).   IF you know her, you also know the struggles she has had to face in that past few years.  She is a single mother of two very special daughters, one of whom is living with Autism which faces it's own daily challenges.  You also know she had recently survived an abusive situation. You all saw her work hard to start a new life, in a new home, in a new town.  By no means is she rich financially but she is rich in LOVE AND GOD.  We were all happy to know that she  finally found comfort and safety in her new environment.

Chemotherapy can drain you physically, mentally and financially.  ALL WE WANT FOR HER is to be able to heal without worrying about where her and her daughters are going to live, how will she feed and provide for them.  CURRENTLY SHE IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL because her platelets which should be in the normal range of 150-200 are at 25.  She cannot work and has no income to help sustain her and the girls.  THE DONATIONS WILL GO TO  her rent, gas and medical bills and any medical necessities.   We would like for her to be able to concentrate on BEATING THIS, it's the most important thing.  We do not know how long the fight is ahead of us but  we will FIGHT.

RECENTLY SHE DISCOVERED bruising that would not heal, she felt fatigued and had blurred vision.  When she arrived at the hospital they admitted her and after several days and several tests they tested her bone marrow, which is how they were able to finally diagnose her.  Jovanna will need a bone marrow transplant,  we are in the beginning stages  of acquiring information and testing ourselves.  I encourage everyone to be a donor, this disease affects many children and you could help save a life.  IF YOU ARE FEELING ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS my sister had, do not ignore it!  Get checked.  The smallest cold could have killed her because it attacks your immune system.  LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, never be too busy for your health.  We are still learning all we can about it, wouldn't hurt if you did too.  Early detection is vital.

I humbly ask, I BEG with no indignity for help for my very best friend, My sister.

I AM HER KEEPER.
