Help Joshua Merello get back to his music

Donation protected
I was mugged and carjacked in Kansas City, Missouri. About $2,000 worth of my music equipment was stolen (PA system, bass guitar, bass amp, microphones, instrument/mic cables, mixing board, stands for guitars/mics/PA, guitar strap, tuner, power cables), along with the car, my phone (I now have a new phone), and countless little things like CDs, a book, sunglasses, etc.

Here's what happened:

I was parked, sitting in the drivers seat of my car, engine on, ready to go home. Two men snuck up to my car, pulled both doors open, and started hitting me from both sides. They punched me in the face, neck, ribs, chest, everywhere. They choked me and threw me out of the car. It happened so quickly that I couldn’t even defend myself. I couldn't even honk the horn to get attention. The only thing I could manage to say was, “What do you want?” They threw me to the ground and kept hitting me. The last thing they said was, “We’re going to kill you” before they drove off with my car, my phone, and nearly all of my music equipment. I got away with my wallet, my apartment key, and my life.

I’m unbelievably angry and sad and going through emotions I don’t have words for. The fact that people can treat another human being this way disgusts me on an entirely new level. Yet this kind of thing happens everyday all over the world. I legitimately thought I was going to be killed by these two pathetic excuses of humans. But I’m here. I’m alive. And I will not let these monsters define me and the rest of my life’s journey.

Physical things can be replaced. The worst part of all of this is how they took away my sense of safety and security. So if anyone reading this isn't able to donate anything but has gone through something similar, and has tips for moving forward, please reach out.

Modern Man Supply Co has already set up their own fundraiser for me. If you'd like to support me while also supporting their business, please check them out. They're wonderful people. And are always putting the local community first.

Additional Info:
There was a witness who saw the two men walking around the street prior to the incident. He let me use his phone to call the police. And he waited with me until the police arrived. He was able to give a description of my assailants. A police report was filed with all of the information I was able to give. If you're in the Kansas City area, this happened in the West Plaza neighborhood, around 44th Terrace and Roanoke.
