The extensive medical treatments and future surgeries will force him out of work for an extended period, possibly a year or more. It’s been almost 3 weeks since Joe was attacked, leaving him with horrible wounds physically and mentally. As of right now Joe has permanent damage to his right eye causing him to be fully blind. They do not know if surgery can fix the blindness in the future. His eye socket will need to be completely reconstructed along with his nose needing surgery, as well as his broken teeth. With all of this happening and the surgeries he will need at a later date, this leaves Joe out of work for a long period of time (a year or more), and even with all the resources he has tried to obtain, this whole situation has cost Joe his job and his home.
