Hi, my name is Joseph Sobolewski and I am trying to raise funds to hire an attorney to defend me in court on a retail "theft" charge of $.43. for a 20oz Mountain Dew that I PAID FOR!

I was arrested, charged, and had a bail set in the amount of $50,000.00 to which the District Justice admitted that she did not know why she set such a high bail when asked by a reporter. I spent a week in jail until I was released on unsecured bail. I am looking at up to 7 year's in prison if convicted. My wife and I are currently homeless. My wife is a diabetic. I take any and all odd jobs that come my way. I am ready and willing to fight my charges, but I need a good attorney who is just as willing to fight and that is why I have started this fundraiser.
I am overwhelmed at the support I have received from so many all over the country.
