<div>My name is Kira, and I’m raising funds for my wonderful husband, partner and friend José. Over a decade ago, he came to the United States from his home country to pursue graduate studies at Northwestern University. He has since built a life here, rooted in community, dedication and love.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Six years ago, we met and fell in love almost immediately. We knew pretty early on that we wanted to get married and start a family together. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Those who know José know how kind, brilliant, loyal and committed he is to being a good dad, partner and friend.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After years of hard work and navigating a long immigration process, José now holds his green card and is eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship. This is the final, crucial step to securing his permanent future here with our family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The citizenship process, however, is complex and financially burdensome. Given the high stakes for our family’s stability and future, we have hired an experienced immigration lawyer to ensure every detail is handled correctly. This is where we need your help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The total cost is a significant hurdle for our family right now:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Legal Fees: Approximately $4,500
</div>
<div>Application &amp; Filing Fees: Approximately $1,000
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After a couple of years of unexpected life and health expenses, and past immigration costs, these fees are more than we can manage on our own. We are humbly asking for your support to help us clear this final hurdle. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal and will provide immense relief.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support would mean the world to us, and help to ensure that a loving father and husband, can finally call the country he has set roots in for for over a decade his permanent home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your kindness and for being a part of our community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love and gratitude,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Kira
