<div>Hello everyone. I am reaching out for help for my family and me. <strong>My husband, in 2015, was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure.</strong> He was able to get a kidney transplant in 2017.

<div>In 2023, we were in the emergency room for a lot of lower back and stomach pain. He needs blood transfusions as well. In November of '23, we were told he had to go in for surgery to have the transplanted kidney removed. The kidney had caught an infection, and from the bleeding, it was causing a tumor. At that point, we thought this had just failed from that point. In January '24, Jose was back on dialysis. He is doing dialysis at home now. In mid-2024, Jose was very ill with his lungs and blood. Doctors did all they could. The rheumatologist came into the room and stated Jose has SLE, Lupus. They said it was becoming aggressive, attacking his lungs. They started him on strong infusions right away. Jose was home a week later.

<div>On Oct 31, 2024, Jose was put into a medically induced coma. He started spitting up blood, big clots of blood. Doctors said his lungs were overworking themselves from a lupus flare-up. The first coma lasted for 3 days. He stayed in the hospital for therapy for another week and finally came home. Three weeks later, he was back in the hospital, throwing up blood, and was put back into the induced coma. This time it was for 48 hours. After Jose woke up, we talked to the doctor about the 6-month infusion plan. We started the infusion in Jan 2025 and just finished them in July 2025. Now we wait, do blood work, keep a close eye, and make sure he stays out of the hospital for 6 months.

<div>This year, Jose has had challenges, hospitalized 4 times, now being diagnosed with pneumonia each visit, staying in the hospital for a week or 2 weeks. As of right now, he does dialysis at home for the stage 5 kidney failure, fighting every day, in pain from the lupus flare-ups. We are currently trying anything we can at this point. I wish I could say he looks better than the last 2 years, but his energy has dropped tremendously. He needs assistance with moving around now. It has gotten to where I, myself, cannot work at this time. I am a full-time caregiver for him.

<div><strong>I am making this to ask for help in any way that anyone can help.</strong> It has been quite a struggle getting bills paid and staying upfront, but we are trying, praying, hoping, and being positive that everything will fall into place. I ask that you please help my family and me with paying for Jose's co-pays, housing essentials, and bills. Even if anyone would like to donate things, I'm open to any help at this point. I know God is good all the time, and things will fall into place for us in due time. If anyone wants to reach out even just to talk or get more updates on Jose, we are on social media also.
