My father, José Rigoberto Morán, was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street on August 24th, 2024 in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He suffered from severe injuries, and a year later is still bedridden and unable to walk.

He is currently fighting a very serious antibiotic-resistant urinary tract infection that has been persistent for the past year. It is severely hindering his ability to recover and causing great strain to his kidneys, especially as he is a diabetic.

According to his urologist there are at least two antibiotics we have not tried yet that could stop the infection: Ertapenem and Meropenem. The complete antibiotic treatment plus some related expenses cost $2000. Unfortunately, we have been under great financial strain and are not able to afford the medicine he so urgently needs.

The complications from the accident, and now this infection, are taking a toll on his body and he cannot afford to wait for proper treatment. We are kindly asking for your help to get my father the antibiotics he needs before it is too late. While $2000 is our goal for his immediate needs, we hope to raise additional funds for his ongoing care, including doctor visits, medical equipment, medication, and the physical therapy he needs to learn how to walk again. Mi padre, José Rigoberto Morán, fue atropellado por una motocicleta mientras cruzaba la calle el 24 de agosto de 2024 en Santa Ana, El Salvador. Sufrió lesiones graves y, un año después, sigue postrado en cama y sin poder caminar.

Actualmente padece una infección urinaria muy grave y resistente a los antibióticos que persiste desde hace un año. Esta infección está dificultando gravemente su recuperación y sobrecargando sus riñones, especialmente por ser diabético.

Según su urólogo, hay al menos dos antibióticos que aún no hemos probado y que podrían detener la infección: Ertapenem y Meropenem. El tratamiento antibiótico completo, más algunos gastos relacionados, cuesta $2000. Lamentablemente, hemos estado bajo una gran presión financiera y no podemos permitirnos el medicamento que necesita con tanta urgencia.

Las complicaciones del accidente, y ahora esta infección, están afectando su cuerpo y no puede permitirse esperar el tratamiento adecuado. Les pedimos su ayuda para conseguir los antibióticos que necesita mi padre antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
