Hi all, my name is Katie and I'm running this campaign to support an awesome friend who wants to take their work on to a new level.
Joris has been working as a workshop facilitator promoting sexual consent for several years now (since 2009). Instead of just promoting verbal consent they dive deep into trusting yourself, body language and also unlearning all the deeply-learned shit that keep us from being authentically ourselves.
What they are teaching is not just a method but creating a whole atmosphere in which consensual interactions can easily happen. This is a totally different mindset from the usual culture of making compromises that most of us grew up in. It's an atmosphere and mindset in which people work together to create the maximum well-being for all. Much of the feedback that Joris receives says that their work is healing and/or eye-opening for the participants, so they decided to go further into that direction and get a degree as a non-academic psychotherapist.
But what Joris notices over and over again, is that this approach does not only apply in sexual interactions and relationships. They recently started writing more about the ideas behind it and the work itself. For three years, Joris has been looking to do a mediation training, because their heart is really in working with groups and relationships. This would definitely be the next step in spreading the ideas and also for Joris' career. Unfortunately, Joris as a single mother has so far not been able to afford this training and this is where you come in: Please join the efforts to make it possible for this awesome person to take the next step.
