<div>Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I am fundraising for Jorge Dominguez, a 15-year-old boy who is here from Cuba on a medical tourism visa to have treatments for brain cancer.

<div>In November 2021, Jorge was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He received surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation in Cuba from December 2022-April 2023. In April 2023, doctors told Jorge and his mom, Katheryne, that the cancer was still there and that he would need treatments beyond what they could provide in Cuba. With much effort and through the help of many friends, Katheryne was able to secure a medical tourism visa that allowed the two of them to travel to the US for surgery and treatment.

<div>On December 12, 2023, Jorge had Gamma-Knife radiosurgery at Miami Neuroscience Center, performed by Dr. Aizik Wolf. Jorge tolerated the surgery well and then entered a program at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, FL, for chemotherapy.
</div>
<div>Jorge is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the hospital every 15 days, along with oral chemotherapy drugs every 28 days for five days. Doctors predict that Jorge will need these treatments for a year, along with additional surgeries depending on his progress.
</div>
<div>St. Joseph's Hospital covers the cost of Jorge's treatments, chemo pills, and transportation to and from doctor chemo appointments. However, he needs additional medication that is not covered by the program. Additionally, Jorge and his mom need money for rent, utilities, food, other supplies, and transportation for things like grocery shopping.
</div>
<div>Here is a breakdown of their monthly needs. I simply multiplied this amount by 12 to cover a year, and then I added the transaction fees that GoFundMe charges.
