<div>I would like you to meet Jördi. 
Jördi is an 11 pound, eight-year-old Min-Pin mix that we adopted April 22nd of this year from The Central Oregon Humane Society. Jördi’s journey to us was a hard one, Though we do not know anything about Jördi’s life before she was found by COHS we do know it was brutal. She was found on the streets of Bend Oregon with severe frostbite damage, new wounds and old ones,  and starving. At only 4 1/2 pounds they were not sure if she was going to survive, But Jördi fought. When we finally got to meet her after what felt like so long there was no denying she was going to be our forever home and  no matter what happened in life we would be hers. 
The joy she has brought into our lives in such a short time is immeasurable! However Jördi was rushed to the emergency vet after showing signs of a stroke. Not being able to walk, not being able to hold her head up, rapid eye movements and vomiting. These signs of a stroke are also signs of what is called, Vastibular Disease in dogs. Vastibular Disease symptoms consist of the structures of the middle ear and the nerves that carry the messages to the brain/central nervous system and the brain/central nervous system itself. These two sets of receptors are what helps Jördi detect linear acceleration and gravity and direct rotational acceleration. In short Jördi can no longer ground herself to the earth or know if she’s upside down or not or going forward or not. Jördi does NOT have an ear infection which could sometimes be the cause of this disease. However, not in her case. The reason for Jördi’s Vestibular Disease is not known. So far clinical presentation is that she might have a brain lesion, causing the vestibular signs. She requires a CT scan or an MRI to understand and know where the problem is and what we could do to help her. However, we cannot afford these or more of her treatments right now after being out of work for over a month with a injured foot. She has to be monitored very closely and cannot be left alone which also means more time out of work. Bend Veterinarian clinic has been working with us giving her as much help as they can for what we can afford right now. If you can find it in your heart, please help us help Jördi.
