Help Jonathan win his battle with Leukemia

Donation protected
Jonathan Tomashefsky was once a very healthy, athletic, and vibrant 17-year-old. On December 15, 2016, Jon got the devastating news he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His initial treatment protocol was 3 ½ years. Sadly, after 2 years, Jonathan relapsed, and his cancer had returned as he was about to leave for his sophomore year at college. Jon and his family were in shock after he had been in remission for two years. He has undergone hundreds of spinal tests and chemo treatments as well as bone marrow tests. He has spent many weeks and sometimes months living in the hospital with blood infections. Twice in the last two years, Jon was in the ICU and had gone into septic shock and almost died. He now suffers from medical PTSD
Last August, Jon had finished almost 5 years of chemo treatments, spinal tests, and pills to keep him cancer free. He went back to college in NH this past fall and was excited to finally be able to have a chance to live a normal life. Sadly, less than two months later, and the day before his 22nd Birthday in October, he got the shocking news that his leukemia had returned again. The only opportunity for Jon to now be forever cured is a bone marrow transplant.
The past five years have been very difficult for Jon and his family. Jon has had to leave college twice, still having to pay for some college and living expenses regardless of not being there. There have been medical, living and working expenses the family has had to pay out of pocket but most of all, living more than 5 years, a quarter of his life, battling cancer has been very trying and emotionally draining on both Jon and the family.
The family has never asked for anything and continues to help others as Jon’s parents are both teachers in the area. So many have reached out with prayer, well wishes and asking how they can help. All they have ever asked is to pray for Jon to be forever cured and finally be able to enjoy his life. His younger sister, Katy is thankfully, a viable bone marrow match, and the transplant will be happening soon. Living with years of treatments, hospital stays, and setbacks have all taken a huge toll on both Jon and the family. We want them to not have to worry about anything but Jonathan getting better and being able to live his life with promise and hope.
For years, Jon and his family have always volunteered in the area and have always gone above and beyond to help others. This is our chance to help them focus on Jon’s upcoming transplant and not worry about any expenses. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
