Hey everyone,
Jonathan and Heather are expecting a beautiful baby girl! Heather is currently 33 weeks pregnant with Abigail and on 7/19 she and Jonathan went in for a routine check up. While at that appointment, the doctor saw something concerning that caused him to admit Heather into the hospital. After being admitted, Heather had to be transported from Tallahassee to Shands hospital in Gainesville via ambulance.
On 7/22 Abigail was diagnosed with Ebstein Anomaly and “Wall to Wall Heart.” Ebstein Anomaly is where the tricuspid valve in the heart is in the wrong position and malformed. As a result, the valve doesn't function properly. Abigail’s heart is enlarged from complications from Ebstein Anomaly and is taking up almost the entirety of her chest cavity, preventing her lungs from growing.
Jonathan and Heather have been in Shands since the 19th, seeing countless nurses and doctors each day. After being discharged from Shands, they will have weekly appointments going forward for advanced testing and monitoring.
I’m starting this fundraiser to help with some of the already overwhelming medical expenses that Jonathan and Heather are facing as a result of this diagnosis.
Anything helps. Please lift Abigail up in prayer and pray fervently for healing. Please keep Jonathan and Heather in your prayers as well as they navigate this situation.
