Help Jonah Washington Fight Cancer!

Jonah is our Gentle Giant :) . He's a loving Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Over the last couple of months he has had some mild abdominal pain off and on. Like most 26 year olds would, he just brushed it off.  He hasn't had any medical concerns in the past and the pain was mild and would go away.  A few weeks ago on a Saturday, the pain returned. It increased throughout the evening and he started getting worried.  As he laid in bed wondering what it could be, the pain worsened. It got to the point it was becoming unbearable and he took himself to the emergency room. Simple causes came up and were quickly ruled out. As the doctors started running more labs, sonograms, and scans the cause of the pain became more concerning. They came back in, letting Jonah know there was a great possibility of him having Cancer.  He was sent home on pain medication and followed up with a specialist a week later. Cancer was confirmed, and he was told he would need surgery within the next month... no later. Jonah does not have any health coverage as it is something he has not been able to afford. He applied for help through a local hospital to get the surgery covered. He got the run around and after waiting anxiously and following up continously for 3 weeks, had no success. With time passing quickly and taking meds around the clock to keep control of the pain, Jonah's Mom took him to the emergency room of the city hospital to try to get help. Jonah spent a day and night in the E.R. going through lots of testing and scans once again.  Then they let him know they were admitting him and he would need to go in for surgery first thing in the morning to have a tumor removed.  This was good news, as he and his family were happy for the help and were thinking and hoping surgery would be a success, minimal heal time and then back to normalcy. On July 11, 2017 as Jonah was in recovery, his family members were taken into a small room and given the news....Jonah's surgery was a success in removing the tumor with a few difficulties along the way, BUT, scans are showing the Cancer has spread through his abdomen and possibly into his chest. Jonah was in intense pain as he was moved into a room. Later the doctor returned letting him know he will possibly need another surgery and or Chemotherapy. With his family and friends around supporting him, Jonah got through his first day after surgery in as much anguish emotionally as phyically. The next morning a Cancer Specialist arrived to let him know they have located 3 more spots and the Cancer has spread throughout his body. He will need several sessions of Chemotherapy starting as soon as possible. Today Jonah has a therapist working with him to help him be able to walk around a little bit and is set to start Chemo tomorrow morning (July 14, 2017) . Jonah is in the process of applying for a local discounted health program to where he can have some health coverage and take care of his medical bills in monthly installments.  If approved, he will be moved to The Cancer Treatment Center of San Antonio. As you could imagine the heavy weight, fears, and concerns that lie ahead for both Jonah and his family facing this long road of uncertainty, there are also a great deal of expenses involved.  As Jonah undergoes healing and treatment, he will be unable to work for an unknown period of time. He will need financial help for expenses to include medical bills and treatments, medications, medical supplies, his normal life bills and obligations, and every day living expenses or any other misc. needs he may have at this time. Your help and support is greatly appreciated no matter how big or small and in any way possible. Thank you so much for your care during this difficult time.
